The Frugal Frog: With Ways to Save Money |
My favorite price for an item I need is always "FREE", of course . . . but if I've got to pay, I 'd prefer it to be as little as possible, so I keep my eyes and ears open to find out where to get just about anything for next to nothing. I've never been a "yard-saler" which is a shame because many great deals can be found in your neighbor's garage or front yard early on Saturday mornings. BUT, what I lose in not going to yard sales, I make up for in being a connoisseur of thift shops and second-hand stores. My favorite "hop" for clothes shopping is the Goodwill Store in Greenville. They are open 7 days a week (9 to 6 Monday -Saturday, Sunday 1 - 6) and provide a clean and organized shopping environment with lots of like-new clothes for men, women and children. Many of the department and retail stores in the Greenville area donate their end of season 'left-overs' to the folks at Goodwill Industries, so it is not unusual to find brand-new items with their price tags still attached. If you're squeamish about wearing 'used' clothes, just remember that the $60 blouse you bought and the color was wrong so you never wore it or the $150 dress that you only wore once and now it won't fit on your big butt ... Goodwill's racks are filled with items just like them for a fraction of what you've paid. |
